The National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) is a collaborative, not-for-profit (501c6) association formed between automakers and independent aftermarket manufacturers to provide technicians, mechanics, and locksmiths with the credentials needed to access security-related automotive information and systems.
If you need to perform tasks like key programming, immobilizer resets, or ordering security codes, you must be registered in the NASTF secure registry database.
Below are the available account types to consider:
1. Free NASTF Membership
- Cost: Free
- Use: General industry access only
- Includes:
- Access to industry updates, learning center, SIRs
- Automaker service links
- Diagnostic network
❌ No access to key codes, immobilizer codes, or programming tools
2. AIR (Assisted Immobilizer Reprogramming) Account
- Cost: no signup cost, fFirst 5 jobs/year at $45, then free
- Use: For techs needing help from approved providers to reprogram ECM, BCM, or PATS
- Includes:
- Remote programming via 3rd-party
- Hyundai Gateway access
❌ No access to direct key programming or security codes
3. VSP (Vehicle Security Professional) Account
- Cost:
- Primary: $435 / 2 years
- Subordinate: $250 / 2 years
- Use: Full access to OEM security data for tasks like key programming, immobilizer resets, and theft protection parts
- Requires: Business documentation and background check
- Includes:
- Key codes, immobilizer codes
- Scan tool validation
- Full access to secure OEM programming data
VSP Account Types:
- Primary VSP – Lead technician; must be physically with the vehicle during service
- Subordinate VSP – Linked to a Primary; U.S. W-2 employees only
- Administrative – Manages documentation, no access to secure data
