Yes. You do not need to own a business, but you must be affiliated with an established automotive-related business.
NASTF membership and Vehicle Security Professional (VSP) credentials are intended for qualified automotive professionals, including technicians, mechanics, and locksmiths.
The affiliated business must be properly registered, licensed where required, and in good standing in the U.S. or Canada.
NASTF credentials are not available for personal vehicle use. Vehicle owners who need key programming or other security-related services should contact an authorized dealership or qualified automotive service professional.
