NASTF OEM Guide – Mercedes Benz DAS4 Keys

MERCEDES-BENZ NASTF SECURITY POLICY

• NASTF VSPs are authorized to order DAS4 pre-programmed keys from Mercedes-Benz dealerships
• Dealerships cannot sell blank keys under any circumstances
• All DAS4 key orders must be handled through the NASTF Secure Data Release Model (SDRM)

DAS4 KEYS ORDER REQUIREMENTS

Credentials and Equipment

• Active NASTF VSP credentials

                All DAS 4 key transactions must be performed using the NASTF SDRM

• Mercedes-Benz XENTRY Diagnostic Kit
• Active XENTRY Diagnostic subscription via StarTekInfo.com

ADDITIONAL DAS4 KEY ORDERS 

• VSP verifies VIN and owner information on-site
• Submit the NASTF SDRM TRP Order form
• Announce the vehicle as present via XENTRY
• Contact Mercedes Benz Dealer, confirm terms of transaction and provide verification of ownership:
  • TRP   and VSP Authorization
  • Proof of Ownership 
  • VSP Proof of Identity 
  • Repair Order
• Dealer confirms TRP form for ‘0041’ programmed key
• VSP confirms receipt of the key on the Mercedes TRP form
• VSP verifies key operation prior to customer release

ADDITIONAL DAS4 KEY ORDERS FOR ALL KEYS LOST

• Verify VIN and owner information on-site
• Submit TRP Order form using NASTF SDRM
• VSP registers the vehicle as “present” in the XENTRY Support System to release the key
• Contact dealer, agree upon terms of transaction and provide verification

• Provide a copy of the XSS ticket showing vehicle release
• Dealer completes TRP form authorizing order and places key order

If the key is not ordered within the 72 window, the process must be completed a second time. 

• VSP receives key and confirms receipt on the Mercedes TRP form
• VSP verifies function of the key at the vehicle prior to release to the customer
• Once the keys are taught, the vehicle must be registered through XENTRY Diagnosis as “Present” confirming the VSP has fulfilled the responsibility

DOCUMENTATION CHECKLIST

Every DAS4 transaction must include:

• TRP Authorization
• VSP Authorization
• Proof of Ownership
• Proof of VSP Identity
• Repair Order
• XSS Case (for all-keys-lost)

KEY TIMEFRAMES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• XSS release approval within 24 hours
• Dealer ordering window within 72 hours
• VSP must verify key function on vehicle

                       Register vehicle as 'Present' in XENTRY after teach-in
