D1 Form Overview

NASTF policy requires that vehicle and owner information is acquired prior to performing any security operation. Remember, any time you are required to use your NASTF credentials (such as purchasing a key code or performing immobilizer functions), a D1 Customer Authorization Form must be completed within five days of the transaction. Having an unresolved D1 Customer Authorization form on your dashboard for more than 5 days will lock your account, preventing you from completing additional transactions until you have submitted the proper documentation.

To fill out a D1 form, log in to the SDRM portal and go to the D1 Form link and select the appropriate D1 for the job you are performing.

  • Customer D1 Form - When a VSP is working directly with the customer and the vehicle is privately owned by the customer.
  • Auction/ Fleet D1 Form - When the VSP is dealing with an auction vehicle or if it is a company owned/ fleet vehicle.
  • Contracting D1 Form - When a VSP is performing work for a 3rd party or another shop but still on a customer owned vehicle.
  • Mercedes Benz Theft Relevant Part (TRP) Order Form - When a VSP is ordering theft relevant parts from Mercedes Benz.
  • Repossession/ Recovery D1 Form – When a VSP is recovering a vehicle or is working in a recovery lot.
  • In Transit D1 Form – When a VSP is recovering a vehicle or is working in a recovery lot.

A D-1 Form must be filled out for every transaction that appears under OEM Transactions - No Authorization Documents on the SDRM 2.0 dashboard. Having an unresolved OEM transaction for more than 5 days will lock your account, preventing you from completing additional transactions. These situations underscore NASTF policy to gather all customer documentation before requesting data.
