About AIR:
The NASTF Assisted Immobilizer Reprogramming (AIR) program enables qualified repair technicians to request remote assistance for security-related reprogramming (e.g., ECM, BCM, PATS) through authorized NASTF Service Providers. This service is ideal for shops that occasionally need immobilizer reprogramming but don't require full Vehicle Security Professional (VSP) credentials.
Costs:
No registration fee for AIR access.
$45 for the first 5 completed transactions per year.
Additional transactions are free.
How to Register for AIR
Create a Free NASTF Account (~5 min):
Go to NASTF SDRM, scroll to the bottom left, and press Join NASTF. Complete the registration form. Confirm your email to activate your account.Log in to the NASTF SDRM Portal
Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (~10 min):
Download an authentication app and follow the setup instructions. Setup guide.Access the AIR Application:
In the SDRM menu, navigate to the Assisted Immobilizer Reprogramming to start your application. You will be required to provide:Federal Employer ID Number or Canadian Business Number
A valid driver’s license
Proof of full-time W-2 employment (see acceptable documents below)
Current pay stub showing your name, employer name, and address (income redacted)
W-2 form (only last 4 digits of SSN visible)
Letter from HR or company principal confirming full-time status
Note: W-4 forms are no longer accepted.
Click "Submit and Close" button
This will begin the review process for the application. After the application has been reviewed (typically within 24-48 hours) and you have received approval notification, you can then submit an AIR request.
After Approval: Submitting an AIR Request
Log in and click Begin New Immobilizer Reprogramming Request
Enter vehicle info (VIN required)
Choose a Service Provider and select the equipment you will be using
Upload required documentation:
Customer’s driver’s license
Proof of ownership (registration, title, insurance, bill of sale, fleet letter, or signed repair order)
5. A Service Provider will then contact you directly to complete the request.
